Natural Wine & Cider Tasting | In the City
7-8pm
On February 7, 2020, we are kicking off a monthly series of Natural Wine Tastings—bringing regional natural wines to our tasting room in Scott’s Addition. After the tasting, the wines will be available by the glass or bottle in our tasting room in Scott’s Addition on Saturdays and Sundays only.
Our cidermaker and owner, Eric Coiffi, will be guiding you through a flight of three natural wines and 2 ciders, which includes cheese, nuts, and fruit.
Our first exploration will be two producers from California: Forlorn Hope Wines (www.forlornhopewines.com) and Donkey and Goat (www.donkeyandgoat.com). These producers are unique, have great back-stories, and are sure to inspire lots of conversation and good cheer!
What is natural wine? While there is no perfect definition, natural wine really describes the method of fermenting fruit juice. In a nutshell, it means fermenting juice with nothing added, and nothing taken away. Other terms like minimal or zero intervention are often used to describe natural wine. If you don’t like chemicals or other unnatural stuff in your food, you should consider exploring natural wine. And we’ve made it easy for you to experience them!
Why focus on natural wines? Well, because we are the only cidery in Virginia—and one of a handful nationwide—that follows natural methods! We want to open our palettes with you, explore natural wines from other regions, and hope you enjoy our ciders to their fullest!
Our Purple Love Pop-Up will also be happening this day!
(Nothing says “I love you” like a bottle of heartfully-made, natural cider! For the entire month of February, we’ll be selling bottles at 30% off!)
