Visiting Courthouse Creek During Virginia’s Phase One Plan for Re-opening
We value your safety, and the safety of our employees. Indeed, it is precisely why we were the first craft beverage facility to close our tasting rooms when this pandemic began. Based upon the information provided by the CDC, FDA, and the Commonwealth of Virginia, we will reopen our farm location only, beginning May 15, 2020. Our reopening will comply with the Safer at Home, Phase One Guidelines set forth by the Commonwealth of Virginia (the Guidelines), and include the best practices currently known to protect our customers and staff. We are all in this together, and respectfully ask for your understanding and compliance with the following:
WHAT IF YOUR NOT FEELING WELL?
If you are sick, exhibiting signs and symptoms of COVID-19, know you have been exposed to someone with COVID-19 in the prior 14 days, or have a fever of 100.4 or above, you cannot come to the farm! We love you, and want you to be healthy! We’ll gladly ship or deliver some cider to you, and when you are better, would love to have you visit.
HOW CLOSE IS TOO CLOSE?
Please be mindful of others, and maintain at least 6 feet of social distancing from people who are not in your party.
IS THERE A LIMIT TO HOW MANY PEOPLE CAN BE IN MY PARTY?
Yes. Your party must be limited to no more than 10 people.
WHAT DO I DO WHEN I ARRIVE? CAN I GO INSIDE?
Pursuant to the Guidelines, seating inside our tasting room is prohibited at this time. So, don’t go inside! Instead, go to the host stand in the orchard. The host will direct you to your table. We encourage you to wear a face mask upon arrival, and while walking to and from your table.
ARE THE TABLES PROPERLY DISTANCED FROM ONE ANOTHER?
The Guidelines require outdoor seating to be at least 6 feet apart. We’ve separated each outdoor table by at least 15 feet. Access to and from the tables will be from aisleways that are 15 feet wide.
HOW DO I ORDER? WHAT CAN I ORDER?
We will provide waitstaff to take your orders at your table. Waitstaff will be wearing gloves and a mask at all times. Single use, paper menus will be on each table. We are offering cider and cider “cocktails” by the glass (disposable glasses), and cold bottles for onsite consumption. We cannot provide tastings or flights at this time.
CAN I MAKE A RESERVATION?
Yes! We strongly encourage you to reserve a table by calling us at 804 543 3157, or email us at firstname.lastname@example.org. Please do NOT message us through FaceBook or Instagram. Call or email us, only. If you don’t have a reservation, seating will be first come, first served. If seating is full, please understand that we don’t have a waiting area. However, you can purchase a bottle of cider and wait in your car!
WHY ISN’T MY TABLE BEING CLEARED OF EMPTY GLASSES?
Pursuant to the Guidelines, and to minimize unnecessary contact (waitstaff reaching over you to grab empty cups and bottles), we will clean your table only after your party leaves. If you wish to self-clean your table, you may use designated open lid trash cans to dispose of your single use cups and menus.
WHERE’S THE BATHROOM?
The bathroom inside the tasting room will be open for use. There is a single waiting spot just inside the tasting room door (on the rug). Otherwise, you must wait on marked spots outside the tasting room; the spots will be at 6 foot intervals. We will have a dedicated staff member whose responsibility it is to clean the bathroom every 30 minutes. Hand sanitizer and wipes will be available inside and
outside the bathroom. We encourage you to wear a face mask walking to and from the bathroom.
WHAT IF IT RAINS?
Start singing? Also, we do have some tables with umbrellas, and some tables will be underneath shade sails, but they offer minimal protection from rain. Remember, we cannot open up any inside space if it rains. If it looks like a passing shower, we suggest waiting out the rain in your car. We are very sorry for any inconvenience, but we must abide by the Guidelines. We encourage you to bring umbrellas and your passion to enjoy all that Mother Nature has to offer!
ARE PETS STILL ALLOWED?
Yes, pets are allowed. Please keep them on a short leash, and within your table area. Also, we do have birds and sheep on the property! If you wish to see the pets, there are a few rules that must be followed: All children must be accompanied by an adult. Only one party may visit the animals at a time. Please ask staff to see them, we will let you know when you may do so. Please note, we are a farm, and operate an agritourism business. You assume the risk of any activity inherent in such an operation–including petting or visiting animals. Additionally, we cannot sanitize our animals after each visit and, thus, if you touch them you assume the risk in regards to possible exposure to COVID-19, or any other such infectious diseases. Remember, the birds are NOT to be chased, harassed, or handled in any way. The sheep, if you wish, may be petted.
THESE ARE A LOT OF RULES! WHAT THE HECK?
Yes, these are a lot of rules! Please know that we consider the Guidelines as extremely important, and necessary to insure the safety of all. If you feel that abiding by the Guidelines is too much to ask, or cramps your style, we fully appreciate and respect your point of view. However, if you don’t want to abide by the Guidelines, or our safety protocols, visiting us is not an option. You will be asked to leave. Sorry to be blunt, but it is what it is.
